I'm looking for a book that objectively explores the concepts of magic, the occult, and paganism.?
More specifically, I'm looking for a book that details the systems of Sigil magic, seals, and how incantations and spells are formed. I'm not looking to be a practitioner, but I am fascinated by the systems, ie. why is the Seal of Lucifer formed the way it is? Who drew it first? Why has it remained the same? What system was used and what other systems are in use?I am mostly interested in ancient systems as opposed to modern " magick" or chaos magic. Does anyone know of any objective literature on the subject?

Not really articulate with things when it comes to the occult. Will this hinder my ability?
Ive been studying the occult for a while, and whenever I go online to possibly find more resources or ways of thinking about things i find that sometimes i am unable to understand what some people are talking about or get as engaged in conversations about the occult and deities and such. Ive never really been a " scholar" so to say, as I dont really do extensive reasearch when it comes to cultures and ways of practicing magic or their respective religions, and things of the sort. Usually I examine what I already know, or what i am able to gain from reading certain books on mythology and such, and then i try and emply those things in my workings. Sometimes I cant help but get the feeling of inadequacy, but ive always been more interested in the more practical ways and interperting mythology and occult texts. Do you think this is going to hinder my ability?

Some questions about the occult?
Recently I've become interested in the occult and have some questions for anyone practicing it or who knows a lot about it. First, does anyone who practices it know from experience if any of this stuff is real, I'm atheist and don't really believe in this sort of stuff, but I've seen my fair share of things I could not explain and am quite curious about it.Second, what books would you recommend someone who is interested in learning more about the occult and or practicing it? I've heard people mention the greater and lesser key of solomon, what are they about and would you recommend them? What are some other well known books about it?Third, I've heard people mention groups like the Golden Dawn, OTO and A A, what exactly are they, what is the difference between them, and how would someone go about joining such a group?Fourth, if someone wanted to practice it, what supplies, if any, would be needed such as candles?Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer some of the questions.I didn't realize occult was such a broad term, but what I'm referring to is Wiccan or other things similar to that. The subject fascinates me so i'd see it fitting to have a career perhaps in it too.Plus I posess a psychic ability that draws me to these things more..I can sense and sometimes see spirits. Thank god it's not all the time. I'm not ready for that..YET.
When will more christians see that the Occult is not the answer?
Why can't christians see that the occult is not going to save them or bring them happiness? I have seen way too many friends, family and co workers who were brought up in the christian world of the occult who then got out of it and are now leading happy and healthy lives finally.
