I am not sure. + Marian Apparitions + Reputed Marian apparitions are examined by the Church. The apparitions found false are declared false. A Marian apparition, if deemed genuine by Church authority, is treated as private revelation that may emphasize some facet of the received public revelation for a specific purpose, but it can never add anything new to the deposit of faith. The Church will confirm an apparition as worthy of belief, but belief is never required by divine faith. This belief is optional. Here is the Catholic Church's official document on Apparition Discernment (1978): catholicculture.org/ culture/ library/ view.cfm?id= 7817 &repos= 1 &subrepos= 0 &searchid= 317436 Here is the list of apparitions that have been approved by the Catholic Church: + Our Lady of Guadalupe + Our Lady of Laus + Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal + Our Lady of La Salette + Our Lady of Lourdes + Our Lady of Pontmain + Our Lady of Fatima + Our Lady of Beauraing + Our Lady of Banneux + Our Lady of Akita + "Catholic " or "Christian " Nations + I don't think we should describe countries as Christian or non-Christian. Reasons: - Christianity transcends nationality. - Is everyone a Christian in a Christian country? Probably not. - Does the Christian country only have laws based on Christianity? Probably not. - I believe in freedom of religion. There would not be freedom of religion in a Christian country. Can you name one country that is truly Christian (not counting Vatican City)? With love in Christ. |

There many countries where the vast majority of inhabitants are Catholic. There are well known Marian apparitions, such as Lourdes, Fatima, etc. as well as many minor apparitions. For example, one can experience an apparition of the Virgin Mary before death by practicing the Devotion to the Seven Sorrows of Mary. See the following promises, especially #6. The Seven Sorrows of Mary are as follow: 1. The Prophecy of Simeon 2. The Flight into Egypt 3. The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple 4. Mary Meets Jesus as He Carries His Cross 5. The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus 6. The Body of Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross and Placed into Mary's Arms 7. Jesus is Placed in the Tomb. Mary wishes for us to pray one Hail Mary while meditating on each of the Seven Sorrows, for a total of seven Hail Marys. She has made the following promises to those who do this on a daily basis: 1. I will grant peace to their families. 2.They will be enlightened about the Divine mysteries. 3. I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work. 4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of their souls. 5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives. 6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death, they will see the face of their Mother. 7. I have obtained this Grace from my Divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy. God bless! Dave |

How about the recorded images of Mary appearing on top of a Coptic church in Egypt (hardly a Catholic country) back in 1968? |

Apparently so, I would question the validity of these apparitions. Or worse, wonder whose they are! Satan can also appear as an Angel of Light. Christians should only concern themselves with the 'Great Commission', pass on the good news of Salvation through Jesus Christ. What has Mary to do with it. Yes! she was blessed among women, but she is not in the same league as Jesus. She is only an earthly vessel. Who herself was waiting for the Messiah, her Saviour. |

Some are suspect and used to convince people to put money into coffers. the most famous is our lady of guadalupe where the original image cannot be found by scientists to be man made. hillary clinton visited the cathedral not long ago, and asked, "who did the painting.' |
