I would love to see spaceships flying around. If they came to kill us then it's really beyond my power and I can't see why I should freak out about it. Just welcome my death or enslavement as a matter uncontrollable future. I know a lot would do otherwise though.Heart of Darkness supercedes everything in the end I suppose but I don't think the scientifically minded people will automatically aknowledge contact as the end.

Im thinking that maybe that religeon and its " Doomsday" scenario is what the elites & Governments used and have used for centuries to control our behavior its called piety . Ultimately, they decide whats right nad wrong, and we comply. A Doomsday scenario believed by the masses regardless of validity keeps the idea that salvation comes in behaving a certain way and being compliant. An alien presence potentially blows this scenario out of the water if we blow the snot out of this world, we can just live somewhere else. What do you think?

The effect of alien contact with Earth, particularly on religion?
It's been a dream of mine since high school I know this sounds stupid and my friends tease me that benevolent aliens contact Earth and a few things occur 1.Formation of a world government with the interest of all people. End to all war or conflict on Earth.2.Basic collapse of racial or gender bias no more bigotry.3.Universal end to religion and a focus instead on reason, philosophy and empiric science.I know none of these things would happen, but I was a nerdy 15 year old kid with dreams... In particular to religion, what would happen religion at large, not just Christianity ?To what Mr. Answer said Yeah, I know that space is HUGE and we far from anything that looks like a thought of a promise of intelligent life. But that's part of my point If someone did make it to Earth from another world, they would need to be many, many times more advanced than our society in terms of technology and likely much older. I would love to ask how they were able to survive so long without killing themselves but still advancing technologically. I believe the answer lies partly in my 3 points listed above. Otherwise humanity is kind of screwed.

A lot of controversy surrounds the pyramids with numerous people claiming that they were built by aliens. Even egyptian carvings etc, often portray beings coming from the sky, teaching them technology etc.. In fact, there are theories that all religious deities are in fact aliens who are believed to be divine.If that really did happen, why do you think aliens haven't contacted us now? Is it because we've developed weaponry which is powerful enough to stand up to their level of technology?

I used to dream about space ships and aliens in human form, I was always trying to run from them bc i was upset that they broke some promise, bc in my dream I was always saying I'm not ready yet you promise you'd wait. I had one dream were this guys dressed in normal clothing were chaseing me, and I believe I was in NJ, and somehow I got cornered and when I turned around looking outside I see this tranigler space ship shoot this balls of light out and out bigger and materialized to a metal armer and then the head of the armer turned to a human male face, and all i could think was damn where do I run now, and as i get ready to run for it the damn alien grabs me and pulls me with him then everything went blank, and I woke up laying on a metal table, but not fearing anything but it gets fuzzy after that and I think I woke up. What does it mean I don't know. maybe I watched to many movies, huh
To: Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Jews: When aliens contact earth, how will this affect your belief systems?
I'm just curious about the thought processes you think you might go through concerning your religious belief systems and the reality that there is life, i.e. different intelligent beings and belief systems on other planets. Will you be totally confused and devastated? Will your beliefs change? Will you be embarrassed that Earth is so primitive in many ways culturally, religiously, socially ?
